Techmunity are partnering with an exciting London-based AI startup to find an Engineering Manager to lead their talented 6-person engineering team.

This well-funded start-up has developed a cutting-edge software product that enhances national infrastructure.

Their solution is already used by public sector organizations, including local councils and national-level bodies, as well as top private-sector consultancies.

The Role

As the Software Engineering Manager, you’ll provide both hands-on leadership and strategic direction to a multidisciplinary team of software engineers and data scientists.

You’ll collaborate closely with the CTO and founders to:

• Build and optimize the software product, integrating advanced AI/LLM elements.
• Leverage the team’s expertise in software engineering and guide them in adopting new AI-driven features.
• Align operational and strategic goals to ensure smooth delivery of the product roadmap.
• Bring together diverse skill sets within the team, fostering collaboration and innovation.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the engineering function, influence product development, and contribute to the company’s journey toward profitability and growth.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Strong technical proficiency with their stack: React, TypeScript, Python, AWS.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and LLM advancements
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring software engineering teams.
• A hands-on approach to leadership, with the ability to contribute to technical problem-solving and architecture decisions.
