Location: 100% remote (will work CST Hours) Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Product Delivery: Lead the end-to-end development and incident management of our broker and commissions payment platform, ensuring that the team remain focused, maintain velocity, and deliver against key business priorities.
  • Technical Integration Leadership: Ensure the platform integrates smoothly with various systems (internal and external), identifying and addressing technical challenges along the way.
  • Backlog Prioritization: Prioritize and maintain a well-groomed backlog, balancing strategic business needs with technical debt, enhancement requests, and issue resolution.
  • User Story Development: Collaborate closely with development teams to write, refine, and elaborate user stories, making sure they are technically feasible and aligned with product goals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure smooth communication, effective decision-making, and alignment across departments.
  • Focus on Velocity & Efficiency: Continuously help teams focus on high-priority tasks and optimize delivery, fostering a sense of urgency while maintaining quality.
  • Scrum Leadership: Act as a key player in Scrum ceremonies, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, always pushing for higher velocity and efficiency.
  • Product Documentation & Roadmapping: Maintain clear, concise product documentation, and work with Product Managers to define and update product roadmaps that align with business strategy.
  • Problem Solving & Technical Support: Work with teams to triage customer-facing bugs and defects, lead the prioritization efforts, and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Platform Enhancement: Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve the broker and commissions payment platform, identifying opportunities to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of dedicated Product Owner experience in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Technical Expertise in Integrations: Demonstrated ability to lead products with a strong focus on integrating complex systems and understanding technical architecture.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies: Proven expertise in Scrum, Agile, and SAFe methodologies, with flexibility to adapt to a maturing agile environment.
  • Strong Prioritization & Focus Skills: Ability to manage competing priorities, focus on high-impact initiatives, and drive teams toward efficient delivery.
  • Velocity-Driven: Proven track record of helping teams achieve and exceed delivery velocity goals.
  • Healthcare Industry Experience: Preferred but not required, with knowledge of payment systems a plus.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Jira Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Jira for backlog management, sprint planning, and tracking development progress.
  • Strong Analytical Mindset: Ability to think critically, evaluate technical and business needs, and deliver solutions that meet both.
  • Team Player & Problem Solver: Strong sense of ownership, a proactive problem-solver, and a natural collaborator with cross-functional teams.
