Job Summary

The Product Owner - Lounge Systems plays a crucial role in driving Swissport's digital transformation initiatives for Aspire lounges. This position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cutting-edge digital products that enhance the customer experience and operational efficiency of our lounge services.

The role involves managing the entire lifecycle of digital products, from conception to launch and beyond, ensuring seamless integration of websites, mobile applications, booking engines, in-lounge solutions, and third-party systems. The Product Owner will work at the intersection of technology and business, translating strategic objectives into technical requirements and deliverables.

Key to this role is the ability to leverage emerging technologies and industry best practices to create innovative digital solutions that set Swissport's Aspire lounges apart in the competitive aviation services market. The position requires a strong technical background combined with business acumen to make data-driven decisions that align with both IT capabilities and business goals.

The Product Owner will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, UX/UI designers, IT Digital/Operation teams, and business stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality digital products. They will also be responsible for managing relationships with technology vendors and partners, evaluating new tools and platforms for potential implementation.

Key Responsibilities:Product Strategy and Roadmap

  • Develop and maintain the technical product roadmap for Aspire lounge digital platforms
  • Align IT strategies with business objectives and customer needs
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies for new technologies

Technical Leadership

  • Lead technical design and architecture of digital solutions.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and security of all digital products.
  • Oversee integration of booking engines, in-lounge solutions, and third-party APIs

Agile Project Management

  • Work closely with software development teams using Agile methodologies.
  • Manage product backlogs and prioritise features.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with IT teams and business teams.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors.
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to maintenance budgets per annum

Other

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs for digital initiatives.
  • Drive innovation in digital product development.

Core skills & competencies.

  • Ability to communicate with impact and engage effectively with senior stakeholders on the program.
  • Written skills are required to put complex and high-profile projects, issues and risks to senior stakeholders identified above.
  • Strong decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests and get things achieved.

Expertise & knowledge

  • 5+ years of experience in IT product management or technical product ownership
  • Strong background in software development and web/mobile technologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud computing
  • Experience in change management and driving technology adoption.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
