Groundbreaking Milestone for Kratos Defense

ODON – Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. has officially broken ground on a new $50 million, 68,000-square-foot facility at the WestGate@Crane Technology Park, strategically located near the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division in Odon.

The Indiana Payload Integration Facility (IPIF) aims to bolster the company's advancements in hypersonic technologies and is projected to generate over 100 high-tech jobs with an average annual salary exceeding $80,000.

Focus on Advanced Hypersonic Launch Programs

Set to be operational by late 2026, this facility will concentrate on critical hypersonic launch programs, such as the Multi-Service Advanced Capabilities Hypersonic Testbed (MACH-TB). It will incorporate advanced testing capabilities and enhance collaboration between military and industry partners.

Economic Impact and Future Growth

This investment follows Kratos's recent announcement of a new energetics and solid rocket motor production facility in Bloomfield, also close to NSWC Crane. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) has pledged up to $9 million in tax credits and additional incentives to foster Kratos’s growth in Indiana. The company plans to expand further, potentially creating up to 628 jobs by 2029.

As a leader in hypersonic technology, Kratos is the prime contractor for the MACH-TB 2.0 program. Governor Mike Braun highlighted the facility's significance in cementing Indiana’s status as a national leader in defense innovation and advanced manufacturing.
