Akamai's Cloud Experience Engineering group develops and operates multiple services deployed on the cloud. These services form the platform for customer-facing and critical internal applications to run in a highly-scalable and reliable way. We enable product teams to deliver on their commitments to our customers. Partner with the best As a Director of Engineering, you will lead a large engineering group responsible for the delivery of our Platform solutions to our global developer base. You will also own and maintain many customer-facing applications. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading experts on a global team. In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

• Partnering with other engineering, product, and security leaders to develop and execute our product strategy
• Leading and developing distributed Software Engineering teams, enabling them to solve problems and deliver high quality software
• Collaborating across the organization to develop products that excite customers today and innovate for tomorrow
• Designing, updating and managing the application platform

Do What You Love To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 15+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
• Have extensive experience leading large distributed software engineering teams with a track record of delivering innovative products
• Demonstrate significant experience in the platform domain. Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
• Be a highly collaborative team player with the ability to manage, influence and achieve alignment across teams

The base salary for this position ranges from $183,600 - $381,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
