Lead Backend Engineer (NetTAC)

The Position OPSWAT is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to join our NetTAC team. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable backend systems and APIs. As a key technical leader, you will mentor backend engineers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure best practices are followed to enhance the performance, security, and scalability of our platform. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. What You Will Be Doing

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend systems and APIs.
• Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers, providing guidance and supporting their professional development.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and develop technical specifications.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications by implementing best practices and coding standards.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and performance issues in the backend architecture.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to the overall technical strategy.
• Manage and prioritize tasks within the team to meet project deadlines.

What We Need From You

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing backend services using Rust and Python.
• Proven experience as a backend engineer with a strong understanding of backend technologies and frameworks.
• Experience with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerized microservices architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab Workflows, Jenkins, and others.

It Would Be Nice if You Had

• Cybersecurity-specific knowledge and expertise.
• Capabilities with other programming languages such as Go, C/C++, Typescript/Javascript and others.
• Experience automating cloud deployments using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and others.
• Experience orchestrating containerized solutions with Kubernetes.
