Transforming Images with AI
Picture this: A North Texas company helps 1.5 million customers worldwide upscale and sharpen their photos and videos with just one click. Topaz Labs is making a significant move—nearly tripling its headquarters in Addison and adding 130 high-tech jobs by the end of 2027.
Topaz Labs provides a unique service where users can upload blurry photos or low-resolution videos to their Gigapixel AI image and video editing software. With just a click, these images are transformed into sharply focused, high-resolution, print-quality visuals.
Expansion Plans
After processing over 1 billion images, Topaz Labs is expanding its footprint by leasing 28,208 square feet in Building 900 at Village on the Parkway, up from its current 7,000 square feet. The company plans to invest at least $2.5 million to customize its new space, creating innovation labs and collaborative workspaces.
The town of Addison has awarded Topaz Labs a $200,000 grant to support this expansion, which is expected to enhance Addison's reputation as a hub for innovation and technology.
A Humble Beginning
Founded in 2006 by Feng “Albert” Yang in a guest bedroom, Topaz Labs has grown significantly in the tech landscape. Yang, a former assistant professor, developed the deep learning-based software that propelled the company to success. Eric Yang, Albert's son, now serves as CEO and looks forward to fostering a vibrant community in Addison.
Wayne Emerson, Addison’s director of economic development, praised Topaz Labs as an ideal partner for the town, emphasizing their commitment to innovation and the community.
This expansion aligns perfectly with Topaz Labs’ rapid growth in the AI industry and their partnership with Addison.
